Columbia University is the origin of the anti-Israel movement. The first pro-Palestinian encampment was established in the front ground of the library of Columbia University. With time, the number of protestors increased this number reached many hundreds.
But the student remained steadfast till 2 May despite they dispersed and being arrested many times. Eventually, police tortured protestors and behaved violently with protestors(most of the students). As a result, the encampments finished.
This brutal use of power by the USA’s establishment proved fruitful. Afterward, these pro-Palestinian encampments sprung up in the USA’s Universities. These encampments were held at the University of New York, the University of Michigan, the University of Pennsylvania, etc. In many universities police raided and riots between police and students occurred. 2000 students were arrested in this movement. Many students were suspended and injured.
