To understand the answer to these questions, it is important to analyze the relationship of Kurds with israel and Palestine.

Who are Kurds?

Kurds are non-Arab people who are indigenous to the Kurdistan region. Kurdistan region includes some parts of Iraq, Syria, Iran, and Turkey. They have been struggling for the independence of Kurdistan for a long time. Like Palestinians, they also suffer from oppression and tyranny.

Kurds relationship with Israel

Israel is well known for its vibrant support for the Kurdistan Movement. At every international platform, it raises the voice for Kurds' rights. Israel assures many times to Kurds' leadership that they are with them in their struggle. Nethanyu several times emphasized about importance of the formation of Kurdistan state. He said that “ Israel endorses legitimate struggles for the formation of Kurdistan state.”

Economic ties of Israel with the Kurdistan region

Since the 1960s, israel has had economic and bilateral ties with Kurds, especially Iraqi Kurds. Saddam Hussein was the common enemy of both Kurds and Israel. So, it sympathized with kurds in this regard. Because Kurds are still fighting with ISIS and the Iraqi government. In contrast, israel die heart allies like the USA and EU oppose the formation of Kurdistan.

Israel helps the Kurdistan movement financially as Kurds sell most of their oil to Israel. Times of israel reported that israel bought 1 billion dollars(around 19 billion barrels of oil) worth of oil from Iraqi kurds. In times of despair, it sends aid to Kurds.

How many Kurds and Jews live in Israel?

An Israeli newspaper(in 2006) reported that Kurdistan freedom fighters got arms and training from Israeli soldiers. Many Kurds Jews fled from Kurdistan to israel during times of wars. According to time of israel(report of 2013) , “there are about 200000 Kurds Jews in Israel along with other non-Jews kurds”

After the Iraq invasion, israel had the desire to form Kurdistan in Iraq but the USA and other countries didn’t pave the way for it. However, it doesn't support PKK(terrorist Kurd organization). Both have some common ideologies like both are against arab nationalism.

In addition, Kurds want to make Kurdistan which existed hundreds of years ago like greater Israel. It has not yet formal diplomatic relations with Kurds but it will be if Kurdistan forms.

Do Kurds support Israel?

Numerous times Kurds leadership declared their support for israel. They intend to make a neighborly relationship with Israel. It is part of israel foreign policy to strengthen its relations with non arab communities in the Middle East.

Similarly, Kurds also try to strengthen relations with non-Arabs because Arabs are against their freedom. Furthermore, Iraqi Kurds wave Israeli flags in their rallies and ceremonies. Right-winged Kurds vibrantly and enthusiastically support the state of israel.

Iraqi Kurds have strong support for Israel as compared to other Kurds. Although, they show solidarity with Palestinians. Kurds authorities believe in the two-state solution. Moreover, it denounces israel genocidal acts and also disagrees with the politics of Hamas.

PKK general has once said that we support the rights of both Palestinians and Israelis to statehood. we will accept any peaceful treaties between israel and Palestine?
