Simply, It is the best mode of communication. The Internet is its foundation if there is no Internet no social media. It is a web 2.0-based application. It is an online society. Social media can access through apps and downloads of computers and other devices. Everything has some benefits and effects so social media also contained these.

Nowadays,  social media is making rapid progress and is used by almost everyone including uneducated persons. Some of the social media are these youtube, Facebook, Pinterest, blogs, Tumblr, Google, WhatsApp, etc. Social media is sharing platform. Mainly it's used for educational purposes and entertainment. Millions of people use it to share information and interact with friends. In simple words, it created a revolution in the world. Recently, Mark Zuckerberg changed the name of Facebook into the metaverse. He defined the new terminology of metaverse as the world of imagination but we can feel it.  But it is underprocessing.

History of social media:

First, the internet was introduced in 1983. After some progress, the first social media site came into existence in 1997 named sixdegrees.com.   This site gathers almost one million users according to the Hootsuite website. It provides the most minor facilities to the user to create profile pages, and friend lists,s and send messages in the network.  After four years, it closed. Then another social media website Friendster born but with some new items. The status and broad network were the main features of this website. then the world's most trafficked social media site face mash born Facebook by Mark Zuckerberg(2003). Many social sites came after one another. This is a brief history of social media.

Social media is the most popular and used thing in the universe. It created a revolution in the world and the foundation of many technologies. Day by day, it becomes advanced and popular. Social media is the best source of information. It is sharing and connective platform. 2. Media sharing site: These websites are used for sharing pictures, videos, and live streams. People connect to each other visually. Some of these are youtube, Instagram, snack videos, Snapchat, etc. Many opportunities are given to users for instance creating valuable and precious videos, sharing, running a business online, source of income,  and running ads.

3. Discussion forms: this form of site is used to discuss and talk about different topics. It is an exemplary source of education and knowledge.  It is a group of experts and professional people. Many political and business talks are made on platforms like Quora, Reddit, Digg, and mediums.

4. Bookmarking platforms: Platforms are collections of trending news, events, and talks.  It is an awesome and amazing platform with the latest news and ideas.
