fATHER OF SOCIOLOGY AND HISTORIOGRAPHY:
Father of sociology and historiography ibn Khaldun was a shining star for the world. Ibn Khaldun was a prolific writer and author of many books. The countless and distinct work on the history of al Khaldun made him prominent among all scientists and historians. He was the first who did distinct work by taking morals from history.
The brilliant mind described many nations arising and deprivation in his history books. He was acknowledged as the greatest researcher and successful man of his time. We can say that he was the real successor of Herodotus(father of history).
LIFE OF IBN KHALDUN:
Ibn Khaldun's full name was Abdul Rehman ibn Muhammad ibn Khaldun was born in Tunisia, May 37 1332. Ibn Khaldun’s ancestors migrated from Arab to Spain and then migrated to Africa due to the bad conditions in Spain. He claimed the companion of prophet Ward bin Adi al kind was his ancestor with proof.
His family had good relations with the emperors of his time. The father and grandfather were political workers and ibn Khaldun belongs to the upper-class family of that time. He focused on education and got expertise in many subjects under al Abili(a prominent scholar of Algeria). He also memorized Quran and studied jurisprudence. His parents died(in viral disease) when he was seventeen and then started political life at the age of 20.
Abdur Rehman ibn Muhmmad also visited Maghrib to seek education. He visited many countries including Arabia, west, north and east Africa, Spain, Iraq, Palestine, etc. He enjoyed high ranks in government under different emperors. Although, he had great contributions to history, sociology, literature, demography, and political science.
He lived in Egypt as a qadi and educationist during the last years of his life. The last years of ibn Khaldun were spent in instability, regret, and troublesome. He wrote many books on history and sociology. His life was like a story of the hero and full of adventure(describe in his autobiography). The father of history died in 1406 in Cairo, Egypt
Education of ibn khaldun:
Ibn Khaldun got his basic education in Tunisia. First, he memorized Quran. Then studied different subjects regarding to Islam for instance jurisprudence, Islamic history, Hadees, law, etc. He studied at ez tounia university(at that time it was madrassa). Al Abili was a prominent mathematician, philosopher, and scholar of his time. The al abili was the main mentor of abdr Rehman ibn Muhammad that teaches him mathematics, philosophy, history, astrology, and the works of al kindi, Jabir bin hayan, Socrates etc. Ibn Khaldun was influenced by many personalities like al khyam, Jabir bin hayan, al kindi, Socrates, Aristotle etc. It is true that all life of ibn Khaldun was spent preaching and seeking knowledge.
Contributions of Father of Sociology:
The title of father of Sociology and historiography was given to ibn Khaldun on the basis of his work in this field. Almuqadima was the best work of ibn khaldun. Al Muqaddam was written three years in old fort. He became different from others because being the first to give the causes of any events. In this book, he well defined Sociology and historiography. He was the first who wrote on the philosophy of history.

He wrote tens of books. The honor of a good politician and administrator was found in ibn Khaldun. Abdur Rehman ibn Muhmmad wrote about Berbers in detail and described the arising and deprivation of nations finely. Abyss theory was one of the contributions of ibn Khaldun. He also studied poverty and the economic system(as the first man ). The biography of ibn Khaldun was the story of the hero. We can say that
Ibn khaldun capable of being father of historiography and Sociology.
